  • Installed, configured and administered the corporate firewall system based on the several SonicWall firewall installations and MS ISA Firewall/Proxy Server, created VPNs for site-to-site connections and for corporate mobile users.

Senior IT Specialist, Senior Internet/Intranet Administrator

Supervised Information section of IT Department (3 workers) and work on networks and information system design, implementation and administration:
  • Designed ATM-backbone network in Kazan, Russia. In this project, five nodes, connected by fiber optic communication lines were installed using Cisco and RAD cost-effective solution (see RAD case studies at http://www.rad.co.uk).
  • Designed and deployed the Russian Academy Information center in Kazan (10 servers).
  • Designed LAN in the central office, with ATM, FastEthernet and Gigabit Ethernet technology.
  • Developed and administered several Web-sites, with use of HTML, JavaScript, SSI, CGI, Perl, ASP, Apache and Microsoft IIS Web-servers.
  • Supervised and administered Russian Academy's E-mail service, including several Unix-based mail-servers (Sendmail, Qmail).
  • Supervised and administered DNS service, Unix-based.
  • Coordinated regional network of Scientific and Educational institutions "SENet-Tatarstan".
  • Lead the preparation of grant proposals and was responsible for their realization.

  • As a head of a team of 4 programmers, carried out several projects in the field of computer-aided experimental biophysics and medicine. The major project was the development of a computer interface to standard cardiograph device, and software for collection and diagnosis of cardio-data.
  • Designed and installed one of the first corporate Network Information Centers in Kazan. The NIC was connected to the Internet and FidoNet, providing support for global e-mail and file-transfer services.
